Who We Are
We are The New Glyn Valley Tramway & Industrial Heritage Trust, a charity organisation with a museum visitor centre located in Glyn Ceiriog, northeast Wales.
We are the successor organisation to the Glyn Valley Tramway Group, an unincorporated association formed back in 1974.
We are registered in England & Wales as a charity and as a company limited by guarantee.
Our charitable purposes fall within the advancements of education, community development, culture, heritage and science.
What We Do
We own and maintain the former Glyn Valley Tramway engine shed, station yard and coal wharf at Glyn Ceiriog and the passenger waiting room at Pontfadog.
We care for and display a large and expanding collection of items associated with the former Glyn Valley Tramway and the industries of the Ceiriog Valley that the tramway served from 1873 until its closure in 1935.
Our Glyn Valley Tramway & Industrial Heritage Museum is established in the Old Tramway Engine Shed at Glyn Ceiriog and on the adjacent former station yard and nearby tramway coal wharf.
We are re-creating a little piece of the Glyn Valley Tramway in the village of Glyn Ceiriog as a reminder of the past, an educational experience and an attraction for visitors.
