Heritage Centre Progress
This first tranche of works was successfully completed at the end of March 2008, and were signed-off by Wrexham Council in April. In December 2008, the final - and more extensive - phase was completed and has since also been signed-off by the Council’s engineer.  This included digging out the north side of the Shed, installing new guttering and a surface-water drain, plus complete restoration and re-glazing of the original Victorian metal windows.
As a condition of its lease from Wrexham Council, the Group has over the past year undertaken a range of significant remedial works to the old Tramway Shed building that will eventually form the core of the proposed Tramway & Industrial Heritage Centre.  From a state of abject dereliction, Group volunteers have cleared the entire site of rubble and debris, a derelict portacabin has been removed, new security measures have been installed, repairs have been carried out to the fences, and bushes obscuring the building from the road have been cut down.
