Conserving the real heritage of
The Glyn Valley Tramway
SCHOOLS PAINTING COMPETITION
Over sixty colourful paintings and drawings by children from three local Primary schools in the Ceiriog Valley were the focus of a successful Community Consultation Day held by the Glyn Valley Tramway Group at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre in Glyn Ceiriog on Saturday.
The children had been asked to illustrate in pencil or paint how the old Glyn Valley Tramway might look at the Group’s planned new Heritage Centre.   Entries were judged on pictorial content, imagination and artistic enthusiasm by local art teacher, Christine Matthews (pictured below), and prizes were offered for the three best entries.
The Winning Entries . . . . .
First prize:  William Davies (Age 10) of Cynddelw County Primary School
Second prize:  Iffan Roberts (Age 7) of Pontfadog County Primary School
Third prize:  Owen Martin-Jones (Age 7) of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog County Primary School.
The Group congratulates the three winners on the excellence of their work and thanks all the young people who took part.
